A hole that is perfectly level can allow water to pool and seep back into the room. A hole that slopes inward actively directs water into the room. The result is water stains on the wall below the fan, peeling paint, and potential electrical hazards.
The fix depends on the severity. If the hole slope is slightly off, the fan housing can sometimes be shimmed to create the correct angle. If the hole is badly angled, it may need to be re-cut. Poor Electrical Installation
